When President Roosevelt came into office, he quickly began creating programs to try and help the country out of the Depression. Within the first hundred days of his presidency, Roosevelt sent several bills to Congress to be made into laws. Roosevelt quickly expanded the power of the government to try to end the Depression. Some people criticized Roosevelt, stating that he expanded the power of the government too much. i do think that the government has a responsibility to help its people. the government has enough responsibility to help the people of the country get back on their feet and make sure the majority of the population is in good health. the government should make sure most or all people have the ability to see a doctor if they are sick or disabled.

DeleteA goverment has to help the people it is their job. It is their job to organizie and sustain the country which is includeing the poor. They have as much responsibility to help the poor as the carieties and churches that were helping them should have at least given money to the charities to help them if they would not. To help their people the goverment should have oranized a system of work for the poor sooner and loan the very money they took from them (taxes) and given it back to try to stablize the country.
ReplyDeleteYes I think the government has a responsibility to help its people. The government should have helped its people by doing more then encouraging other organizations to help. Hoover could have tried to adjust or make new laws that could have helped the people instead of not doing anything. Hoover should have started helping earlier then he did with getting more people paying jobs and shouldn't have stopped there but continued to help them. He could have helped the banks that were going out of business. The government should have the responsibility to take care of the peoples' needs, or in this case help them when they need it. The people need help and they didn't get any from the government able to help them. Total control and responsibility over things like the businesses, churches and employment of people shouldn't be given to the government but enough so that if something needs to be done to help and nobody is doing it the government should have enough control to do what needs to be done. No more and no less.

We elect our legislaters to protect us now and give us a better future tommorow. This is a nation of, for, and by the people. The people cannot expect the government to protect them! ReplyDeletei think that the govvernmnet has the responsibility to help its people. i think this thought for many reasons. for example, if the government knows whats going on and knows all the current problems they do whats in their power to try and help. for instance, during the great depression, the government should have got involved in what was going on and tried to help all the families that were literally falling to peices because of the gd. people were being unemployed because their was not enough money to supply them with paychecks. now these unemployed people had to go wait in the ong unemployment line. it is a long annoying process. their was no money home or food to give to their families. nt everyone wass elligible to recieve unempoloyment. therefore some people were left to figure out how to provide for their poor families. the government should have came up with ideas t plan things better so that the dreat depression did not happen at all. if that was not possible, then when te great depression hit the governmnet and its people should have been somewhat prepared for it. with an abundant food and water supply ang safe shelters to go when this hit. especially the dust bowl. it wi=ould be much safer if people hid in shelters when the dust bowl hit because they wouldc not so much be breathing in all the pollution and dirty air. and all of the toxens of that predicament. the dust bowl killed many people that were alive when the great depression was in place. many loved noes dies during the great depresion time. not just from the dust bowl, but also from starvation and dehydration. many people were left unfed. fortunatly for them, there were soup kitchens. which meant that people who were in need could go and recieve free soup becuse they could not afford to buy meals for their families. the government should have quite a few responsibilities. in their important place they should be incharge of a lot. for example in charge of the costs from the great depression. also the costs for the damage from the dust bowl happening as well. the government should be willing to help the citezins with whatever they need. the citezins were in alot of physical emotional pain from the great depression. the government should help all pof the businesses get back on track and back running again. during the great depression many bussineses and banks were out of bussiness.
